Joe, Canada converted to metric in the 70s when the US was also supposed to, but backed out. I was in about grade 3, I think, so conversion was a significant theme throughout elementary school. Sometimes we still fall back on convenience, particularly in recipes. I occasionally see ovens that include celsius temperatures alongside fahrenheit, but nobody uses celsius. Of course packaging in metric is required by law, which is why this recipe calls for canned sweetened condensed milk in a metric measure. I am still unable to think of my height and weight in terms of centimetres and kilograms, but in most other uses I have converted.
That looks scrumptious. I’m surprised the recipe doesn’t have metric measures included, since doesn’t Canada use metric?
Happy birthday to Danny! 🙂
