We walked part of the Guelph Lake trail yesterday. It was near dusk. The light was ethereal. As we turned a corner onto this long stretch through a pine plantation, it spooked me. In a good way. It looked like some paintings by one of my favourite local artists, Sona Mincoff, particularly Moontemple. As I was thinking it, Danny spoke my thoughts aloud: it looks like one of her paintings, he said. He was referring to Friends, which hangs in our living room. Who knows? It is a popular place to walk, so maybe Sona has seen it. I have walked it three or four times myself, but this was the first time in the otherworldly light of a November afternoon. I would like to see it in moonlight.
So nice! Reminds me of home. Thanks, Van!
Did you have pines around home?
That is simply breathtaking.
Thanks, Joe.
Love this photo! And thanks for adding the link to Sona Mincoff’s. It was interesting to see the two different paintings that this walk called to mind.
I’m glad you enjoyed it. Her paintings really move me.
