Photography

I have carried a camera ever since I can remember. As a teenage botany geek I ran around with lens to the ground identifying and recording every plant I could find. Becoming a news reporter I enjoyed dark room work, but colour photography of the natural world has always been my first love. I went digitial in 2002. I’m especially keen on closeup (macro) photography of fungi & lichens, plants, and insects. I have a passion for places of all kinds, and how they influence our lives.

The galleries below contain a few of my favourite shots. To see more, visit me on Flickr. Since 2005 I have posted more than 5,700 images. I curate a Flickr group, Genius Loci: The Spirit of a Place.
