A gap in the clouds

Emerging sun

It is photo blog Thursday.

On Friday we bought a new 55 to 250 mm Canon zoom lens with image stabilization. This is the first time in many years I have had use of a telephoto lens. It is going to take some practice to get back into the groove and explore the digital opportunities.

This has been the summer of rain. I will not complain after last year’s drought. Yesterday I ate the first cherry tomato off the vine and we have enjoyed an abundance of zucchini and fresh herbs.

Besides, the rain has been well interspersed with sun, a pleasant mix of heat and clear, fresh weather I refer to as Lake Fletcher days because they remind me of cottage country. This morning my camera caught the sun blinking through a gap in the clouds.
